Blake Murray has worked in the landscaping industry for more than 20 years gaining experience in commercial, residential and HOA landscape maintenance and horticulture. He is an alum of N.C. State University where he graduated with a degree in Horticultural Science. Blake is a licensed landscape contractor with extensive knowledge of turf and ornamental plants. He is also licensed in Pesticide Application and has experience in hardscape installation.

A native of Waycross, Georgia, Blake currently resides in Durham, North Carolina with his wife (Kat), four children (Carter, Ryan, Deacon and Jamaeson) and two dogs (Angus and Wrangler). In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, watching sports, and spending time with his family.

Where It All Began

Blake started his landscape career working for a large commercial landscaping company and quickly moved up the ranks to maintain some of the most prestigious offices in Charlotte, N.C. Over the years, he has acquired experience working with landscaping companies of all different sizes, including a three-year stint with the biggest landscaping company in the U.S. While working with the larger companies provided a lot of knowledge about the industry, Blake prefers the smaller operations because they allow for more personal customer interaction and support.

Blake has always wanted to own his own business, but he knew from experience that he didn’t want to be another “mow, blow, and go” landscape company. In March of 2012, Blake launched Murray’s Landscape Services with a primary focus on customer service and satisfaction. The main goal of Murray’s Landscape Services will always to be provide “Southern Service and Professional Results.”


